From the new thicker hand-blown globes right down to the large non-slip feet on the base.  Our proprietary gas formulations that create our gorgeous colors and effects didn’t need improvement but we asked Brent, our Florida based engineer, to completely redesign the electronics.  The new circuit board is more robust and allows for smoother, more precise control.  Like our professional “Museum Series” globes, the plasma effects in our the new “Junior Pro Series” globes can be increased or diminished by an adjustable power switch. This makes the globes much more interactive, allowing you to dial in the exact effects you like best. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWe didn’t stop there! \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese new globes look fantastic when running in the dark but we felt they also had to be stunning when simply sitting unpowered on a desk or shelf.  The bases are now clear coated with a beautiful glossy finish and the redesigned base plate is 3\/4” thick with futuristic looking ventilation vents.  These changes, combined with the new thicker globe,  give the \"Junior Pro Series\" globes an overall look and feel of fine art.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to updating the globes themselves, we also use \u003cstrong\u003e digital switching transformers\u003c\/strong\u003e, which are more efficient and can accept both North American and worldwide voltages. The “Junior Pro Series” globes are powered by a 12V 1000ma power supply, which is \u003cstrong\u003etwice as powerful\u003c\/strong\u003e as the 500ma power supplies used in small consumer plasma globes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eA final note: although we recommend only running your globe while you are around to enjoy it, we have been running several samples of our Junior globes 24\/7 for a few months now to prove their longevity, and will continue to run them. With its hues of green, orange, blue and hints of purple, it is easily our most colorful globe. It also strikes a nice balance midway between the slow and relaxed “Tyrian Purple” globes, and the frantic speed-crazed “Emerald Fury.” If you are looking to give a plasma globe as a gift, the “Genesis Junior” globe is a great choice for someone who has only ever seen a regular mass market globe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBecause of the complexity of this effect, we had our doubts that we could be successful in creating a downsized version of the “Genesis” globe, but the Junior version has wildly exceeded our expectations. What the “Genesis Junior” gives up in size, it compensates for by producing color saturation that is more intense than our large professional model.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStarting on the lowest power setting, vibrant green tendrils emanate from the soft orange glow of the center electrode. They are tipped in a nice orange color and wave slowly back and forth in the vacuum. As the power is increased the tendrils multiply and lengthen. Approaching full power increases the speed of the effects and starts to reveal violet tinted white tendrils here and there. A hand or fingers placed on the globe at this point generates very striking white streamers against the contrasting deep green and orange effects. The effect is stunning and you will catch glimpses of fluorescent blue reflected in the glass wall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs extraordinary as the interactive “Genesis Junior” effects are at high power, we really love this globe on the lowest power setting. He had called to congratulate us on our efforts, and in speaking with him we found out that he had worked with Bill Parker in the 1970’s on the original plasma globes, and was now a plasma globe collector with over 20 globes in his collection. We convinced him to work on developing something different for us, and the globe you see today is the result of his gas formula.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Junior version of the “Phoenix Rising” is very true to its older sibling. The combination of whitish tendrils with orange tips is very pleasing, and touching the globe generates bright white lightning strikes and vivid splashes of orange on the glass. The globe has a nice range between the lowest and highest power settings, which isn’t possible with some other effects.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe low setting has a relaxed feel with the orange-tipped tendrils moving slowly and gently. As the power is increased, so too is the intensity of the effects. The tendrils fatten and lengthen as they try to escape the globe. On low power, the tendrils emanate from the center electrode in a waving, relaxed motion. As power is increased, the number of tendrils grow, and small red flowers form at the tips as the plasma tendrils strike the glass. At this power level, the plasma will subtly interact with your touch, and you will be able to see the glass light up beneath your fingers as a few small tendrils of plasma make contact.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eOnce the globe has been turned up to a sufficient power level, the globe becomes fully interactive. As power is increased the center electrode and the globe’s interior wall begin to glow blue while the interior fills with a bluish fog. All of this presents a nice contrasting background as the ever enlarging green and white tendrils reach out and strike the glass. With this maturing a hand will now produce more sustained beautiful long looping ropes when the globe is touched. This break-in period takes about 1,000 to 2,000 hours of operation to occur but the globes are gorgeous from day one so we strongly suggest that you enjoy every hour and not rush the process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter 3,000 to 5,000 hours an unattended globe will have vivid greenish white tendrils waving slowly in a bluish fog inside of an electric blue colored globe with occasional spontaneous white lightning strikes to the glass. Touching the globe will make it come alive! Long looping tendrils will reach out to your hand and you can drag them down the globe and release them to explode on their own against the base and electrode tower.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have found that after about 3,000 to 5,000 hours the globe effects stabilize. (In case you are wondering, we installed electronic timing meters in the base of our test globes and videoed them periodically). Using specialized equipment the globes are filled with combinations of the noble gases in a vacuum to create various colors and effects.
