Discounted 15" Genesis - Continuum Globe

This globe was mishandled during the manufacturing process which resulted in a group of scratches on the outside of the glass. We are not sure how this could get past the worker doing the final assembly but often these defects are easy to miss unless you are looking for them. We have to get the perfect angle to have them show up on the camera. We find them during our final inspection while slowly rotating the globe under very bright lighting, The blemishes do not affect the performance of the globe in any way and are virtually invisible under normal operating conditions. They offer our outstanding display and effects at a big discount.

About Our “Genesis Continuum Series” Plasma Globe

This is the new series of our extremely popular “Genesis” globe. This series will be outfitted with a brass plaque identifying the globe as “Genesis Continuum Series.”

The “Genesis” Plasma Globe features green plasma lightning with reddish-orange tips, emanating from a red electrode. At low power, reddish-orange circles appear on the center electrode with green spikes drifting outward from their centers. These vibrant spikes end with reddish-orange tips. As the power is increased, the spikes lengthen into multi-shaded tendrils that are green when they leave the red circle but gradually gain a light purple tinge before abruptly changing back to reddish-orange at the tips.

Still in the lower 1/3 of the power range these intensely-colored tendrils do a slow spidery dance. Increasing the power sends the tendrils out towards the globe wall and they become very energetic, creating large splashes of reddish energy as the electrons smash against the glass. At the highest power setting some of the green streamers change color to a vivid purplish white and add to the riot of color. At this point the globe effects are very fast paced and show distinct red, green, purple and white colors with many shades in between. A hand place on the globe surface will attract an intensely-white streamer from the center electrode that arcs across the finger tips highlighting each point of contact in a display of reddish white energy. This lightning like streamer is highly sustained and forms undulating white loops in the midst of the ongoing red, green and purple energy explosion. The overall effect is truly dramatic.

⚠️ Important Notes ⚠️

All of the pictures and videos of our plasma effects were taken in near darkness. The descriptions of the effects are based on observations of the globes in the same near darkness. Just as the Northern Lights cannot be seen during the day, our globe’s effects are best viewed in a darkened environment. Increasing levels of ambient light will wash out the effect colors until they almost disappear under full sunlight.

Please be aware that no two plasma globes are exactly alike, and there may be variations in color and effect from globe to globe. We test and compare over a dozen globes before selecting the globe to be used as the best overall example of the series. We make every effort to photograph and present our globes as accurately as possible, but Videos and Photos on this website should be used solely as a guide to what a product should look like, not as an exact representation. Rest assured your plasma globe will be unique and awesome!

Our plasma globes are made from temperature-hardened, laboratory-strength blown glass. Because the glass is hand blown, it is normal for it to have some imperfections. Upon close inspection, you may find small bubbles in the glass or minor scuffs. These imperfections will be completely invisible under normal operating conditions (i.e. a darkened room).

Stylish, Black Wood Base

We’ve always wanted to make a globe with a black base, but all our attempts have inevitably resulted in the wood grain disappearing, making the base appear to be made from plastic. We finally figured it out though! Our new bases are black “ebonized” ash, which retains the wood grain while giving that sought-after black color that so many people have asked us for.

Premium Controls

Our Continuum Series globes have replaced the previous plastic knobs with luxurious machined aluminum knobs, the kind you might see on high end audio equipment. Paired with these knobs is a new high quality carbon potentiometer, which provides a buttery smooth feel and precise control over the plasma display.

We’ve also added a separate on/off switch with a built-in, dimmed LED indicator. The separate power switch makes ignition of the plasma gasses much more reliable, especially with our more power-hungry globes like “Emerald Fury” and “Promethean Fire.”

One Final Touch

We have always considered the controls to be on the back side of the globe, but many customers like having the controls on the front, and having the power input in the same place was an inconvenience. To solve this, we have now moved the power receptacle to the underside of the globe, allowing you to position the globe however your want without the cord getting in your way!

Mind blowing!!

I'm flabbergasted at the quality Aurora puts into their products!! From the hardwood base to the huge 15 inch globe that is made from very thick glass. The plasma effects on this one are second to none!! Beautiful green tendrils with a hint of red at the tips turning white when globe is touched. Totally worth every red cent!!

I was blown away !

Absolutely a stunning piece. Quality... Quality... Quality. Beautiful heavy wooden base. Thick glass. Strong beautiful plasma effect. This globe makes a statement. So relaxing to watch.
My only suggestion is to put the numbered plaque on the front (instead of the back) of the base, as it shows the series number, the number of globes in that series, and the globe number.
Also great customer service and communication from Jerry.
Could not be happier with my purchase.
